CYA Soccer proudly announces the 4th annual High School Preparation Program!

This intense program is especially designed for current or aspiring High School Players presenting them with an opportunity to further develop their knowledge, conditioning, skill and tactical awareness.  The program curriculum is also designed to develop strength of character and much needed leadership skills.  Players and parents will have access to in-depth analysis and feedback from our internationally licensed coaches and trainers.

CYA Soccer is fortunate to have Soccer Performance International (SPI) as our developmental specialist and has enlisted the services of SPI to implement this preparatory program.  Andy Vera, a former professional player, has competed in some of the most prestigious leagues around the world and will be the lead trainer for this program.  Mr. Vera owns and operates SPI and has incorporated several trainers into the curriculum to give our area High School Players specific additional work in goalkeeping, plyometric fitness training and tactical field play.

The program will begin Monday, January 5th with most high School tryouts starting the week of  February 23rd. You can get all the program details at www.spisoccer.com.

We are often asked how we go about making decisions on the fields with regard to having them open or closed.  It's usually pretty simple - if the county says they are closed, we have no choice but to close them.  That is the case for today, Friday, September 26th, 2008.

Saturday and Sunday present difficulties as CYA Administrators work closely with the Fairfax County Parks and Rec to assess fields and make decisions as to playability. 

For Saturday and Sunday, we try to update the website and hotline by 7:30 am so please check back tomorrow  morning for a status report.  Let's hope for dryer weather so we can get the games in!
