CYA Volleyball Families,

 

I hope you are all doing well.  I wanted to provide a quick update about the upcoming CYA Volleyball Season.  Over the past couple of weeks, our numbers have grown and it looks like we are in for a fun season!

 

Practice Schedule

All teams will have one practice on either Monday, Wednesday or Thursday for all age groups.  We haven’t established the actual practice schedule until we have teams settled but some of you have asked about which days we would practice each week.  

 

CYA Volleyball Academy

Something new we are working on this year – the Academy.  We are offering technical training on Friday nights for all players at either Franklin Middle School or Rocky Run Middle School from 6-9pm.  The Academy is part of the registration fees so all players are welcome and encouraged to attend!  The Academy starts on Friday, April 23^rd – schedule TBD.

 

Uniforms

Coaches will distribute uniforms at their first practices the week of April 12^th. 

 

Game Schedule

We are developing the schedule now and plan to start on Saturday, April 17^th.  Like everything else, that schedule is TBD!

 

Coaches

We need Volunteer Coaches!  Please let me know if you can help. 

 

Registration

We are going to close it on Thursday, April 1st, so if you know of anyone else who would like to play, tell them to sign up asap!

 

CYA Boys Volleyball

Assessments for boys in grades 5-8 will be held at Franklin Middle School on Wednesday, April 7th at 6:30pm.  All players must be registered prior to attending assessments!

 

CYA Girls Volleyball

Assessments for girls in grades 5-HS are scheduled for Saturday, April 10th at Franklin Middle School. Please see the calendar for more details.  All players must be registered prior to attending assessments!

 

Important Information!

Due to Covid 19, Spectators are not allowed inside the buildings until further notice.  MASKS ARE REQUIRED in all FCPS facilities at all times, unless drinking water.
