VOLUNTEERS
The wonderful success of last few year’s program, after a few years of dormancy, was due to the many parents who "stepped up" and volunteered to coach any one of the ten different age groups. What could be better than ending your busy weekend with your child or children teaching them the love of running/jumping/throwing. You need no experience to volunteer, and even have the ability to get your own workout in on Sunday afternoons..... Best to all,
Ed Lull CYA TRACK Director
The CYA Track program is a "low keyed" (emphasis on fun / fitness) spring / summer program that attempts to teach basics of many track events. Track events undertaken include:
50 meters
100 meters
200 meters
400 meters
800 meters
Mile
Relays
Also included are the long jump and shot put. Additional events such as hurdles and high jump may be undertaken as is feasible (availability of volunteers and equipment). Most of the track meets held are "intra club" where CYA athletes run selected events with other CYA participants of similar ages. A few events with non CYA track clubs are scheduled.
Registration information is available online at www.chantillyyouth.org, or email Ed Lull, CYA Track Director at CYATRACK@cox.net.
