As is happening across the country with youth lacrosse, CYA anticipates a record number of Chantilly boys will play lacrosse in 2008, many for the first time! In an effort to maximize the experience for all players, teams will be assembled based on past game experience and skill levels demonstrated at the upcoming evaluation sessions.

Boy’s 2008 Spring Evaluation Procedures

We participate in the Northern Virginia Youth Lacrosse League (NVYLL) season, and compete against other youth lacrosse organizations in the Northern Virginia area.  NVYLL offers competition in the following categories:

A level – Most highly skilled and experienced players for each age group (see below)

B level –U13 & U15- players have past game experience and good skill foundation

B level –U11- players have limited game experience/good skill foundation

C level – U11 and above – limited game experience / skills / beginners

Teams are selected to best match a boy’s skill and athleticism with the level of competition that will allow the most development and participation.

Note: "A level" teams do not have an equal play requirement.  As an A team player, it is expected that lacrosse will be your son’s primary sport in the spring.   "A level" teams practice/scrimmage up to four times per week prior to the season.  NVYLL rules allow up to four practices/games per 7 day period for all level teams so many A (and B) teams practice 3 times and play 1 game on Saturday or practice twice, play a game on Saturday and scrimmage during the week.

CYA Boy’s Lacrosse evaluations will be held at the Word of Grace Athletic field (directions below).
