SENIOR BABE RUTH LEAGUE - AGES 16-18
Any player born in 1990, 1991, and 1992 is eligible for Babe Ruth Baseball 16-18 Division. Players born in January, February, March, and April of 1993 must play in the 16-18 Division. Players league age 15 by May 1 age determination date are eligible to be swing players in the 16-18 Division.
During the Spring 2008 season, approximately 60 boys ages 16 through 18 played baseball in the Northern Fairfax County Senior Babe Ruth League (NFC SrBRL). NFC Senior Babe Ruth League is a part of Virginia Babe Ruth District 7.
The NFC Senior Babe Ruth League is comprised of teams of players from the Chantilly, Herndon, and Reston communities and includes players from the same geographical boundaries as the Greater Herndon (13-15) Babe Ruth League. The NFC Senior Babe Ruth League takes advantage of the Chantilly Youth Association’s administrative capabilities in order to facilitate the registration and organization of the League.
The Public High School Districts that are included in the NFC Senior Babe Ruth League geographical boundaries are Chantilly, Herndon, South Lakes, and portions of Westfield , Oakton and Fairfax . Many of the program’s player’s play at the high school level and some go on to become college athletes. Our program’s support of the high school programs is primarily in the form of work and improvements to their baseball facilities. In return, the schools and their coaches have been very supportive of our program through the use of their facilities and their time.
Many of our players will be participating in a spring sport at their high schools, but that does not preclude them from playing Babe Ruth baseball. The season does not start until after the completion of the spring high school seasons. For example, the high school Varsity baseball season ends in late May/early June. The Senior Babe Ruth season does not start until the following week. Most high school players return to play for Senior Babe Ruth teams after the completion of their high school season. |
We look forward to seeing everyone back out again this spring. If you have any questions or concerns about the coming season, please feel free to contact David Gould, League President and Commissioner of Northern Fairfax County Senior Babe Ruth at dbgould@erols.com.
